In good to very good condition. The cloth of the covers shows mild wear but the lettering on it is clear and legible. Creases to the corners and tiny scuffs to the head and foot of the spine are evident. Inside, the printed text is clear and legible, but the handwritten entries are faded beyond readability. The ID photo has a few cracks, most of which are caused by the pressure applied when rivets were punched in. The image is in sharp focus.

Overall, this is a most unusual and quaint civilian ID of the Stalin era which will add "color" to any collection of Stalin-era Soviet artifacts.

Please note that the penny in our photo is for size reference.
