The interna pages are mostly clean, showing just an occasional small stain and mild wrinkles. Pages 39 through 42 share a vertical crease which can be easily ironed out, if desired, or flattened out naturally, over time.

The book is subtitled Concerning the defects of party work and the measures of liquidating the Trotskyists and other double-dealers. This speech laid out the foundation for the Great Purge of NKVD and Party leadership, justifying it with a truly Machiavellian skill.
