Even though it is made in silver, the badge has no silver hallmarks or maker's mark, which is often the case with the period Russian badges (most likely due to the manufacturers' avoidance of assay inspection fees.) Although not overly complex and ostentatious as some other imperial graduation and regimental badges - the wreath, for instance, is of single-piece stamped construction rather than made of separate leaves - this badge exhibits all the magnificent trademark quality of the era. All of its elements are executed with superb skill and meticulous attention to detail.
Outstanding, excellent condition. The raised details are untouched by wear or cleaning; the attachment rivets are sound and tight. There is a very attractive even toning to silver on both sides. The screw post is of full length of approximately 22 mm. Includes the original screw nut in silver with a stamped maker mark "14" matching that on the reverse of the badge.
