The purpose and mission of Sovnarkom is succinctly stated as "for governing the country", which made Sovnarkom the highest level of the Soviet government. Control over the Sovnarkom and authority to make personnel changes in it was given to the Congress of the Workers', Peasants', and Soldiers' Deputies, and its Central Executive Committee.
The first People's commissars appointed by the congress are listed under the announcement, their pseudonyms in parenthesis next to their real last names. Ulyanov (Lenin) is the Chairman; the rest of the list is the Who Is Who of the Bolshevik movement. To name just a couple of the most notorious names, Bronshteyn (Trotsky) - Foreign Affairs; Dzugashvili (Stalin) - Affairs of Nationalities.
In very good to excellent condition. The paper is a little frail but not brittle. Pushpin holes, light wear to the edges, short tears to some of the fold lines at the edges, and wear to the area at top left of the upper edge are not as obvious as the random whitish discoloration spots. However, all the wear is made less intrusive to the eye by the large size of the poster. Overall, the poster has great presentation, and will be the gem of any collection of early Soviet memorabilia, marking the very moment of creation of the Soviet Government.
Please note that the 1-ft. ruler in our photo is for size reference.
