Badge for Long Distance Voyage on a Submarine, Type 1, circa 1960s issue.
Brass, enamels; measures 26.5 mm tall x 34.8 mm wide. Nice solid quality, typical of the early production. The reverse shows a raised early- style Pobeda Factory logo.
In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is exceptionally well preserved, essentially perfect. It shows a beautiful luster and none of the usual chips, flaking or rubbing. There are only a few miniscule contact marks practically unnoticeable to the naked eye. The slight, barely noticeable discoloration on the white field of the flag in the lower left corner is a manufacturing imperfection, not a result

The details of the wreath and submarine are perfect; the gilt finish on the wreath and the reverse of the badge is beautifully preserved and bright. This very attractive submariner badge from the early Cold War era.
