The Breast Star is in silver gilt and enamels, 74.0 mm in diameter, weighing 109.3 g. The reverse is gold-plated, with the usual engraved characters meaning "order of merit decoration" and a three-pronged trident-style vertical pin. According to the asiamedal.info website, the "trident" construction was introduced by Japanese Mint around 1979. In excellent condition. No wear visible to the naked eye.

The Issue Case is in lacquered wood padded with purple velvet. The inside of the lid is lined with padded purple silk, and includes a length of decorative champagne-colored glitter ribbon. The lid shows the name and class of the decoration inscribed in kanji, in gold. In excellent condition, just a few tiny scuffs to the lacquer, barely noticeable. Structurally, the box is completely sound. The hinge is strong, the latch is in perfect working order.
The Order of the Sacred Treasure was founded by Emperor Meiji's edict of 1 January 1888 to be bestowed upon persons who had rendered
distinguished service to the state. It was awarded to the military and civilians, and is presently constituted, albeit since 2003 in six, versus
the original eight, classes.
