
Group of 4 Award Documents (so-called "Danube Bow") to Guards Senior Sergeant Ivan Tregub (Иван Павлович Трегуб), 10th Guards Rifle Corps.
Award Certificate for the Medal for the Liberation of Belgrade, issued to Guards Sr. Sergeant Tregub (misspelled "Trigub") on 7 May 1946. Shows an ink stamp of the 40th Army and is hand-signed by its Chief of Personnel, a colonel (the last name is unclear but appears to be Levchenko.)
In very good to excellent condition. There are a couple of small ink marks to the front cover and normal age toning; the document is very clean otherwise, perfectly sound. The hand-written text is fully legible.

(Note that just like in the Belgrade Medal document, the last name of the recipient is misspelled "Trigub". His name was in fact Tregub as evident from the Soviet archival records.)

The group comprises award certificates for the Soviet WW2 offensive campaigns of the last year of the war in the southern sector of the
front. It is quite uncommon to see a complete set such as this one awarded to the same individual. This combination of documents is
colloquially referred to as the "Danube Bow" by the Russian-speaking collectors, because all three capital cities for which the medals were
bestowed are located on the Danube River. It should also be mentioned that in May 1945, the 10th Guards Rifle Corps in which Sr. Sgt. Tregub
served during these campaigns was awarded with the honorific title of Budapeshtskiy - i.e. "of Budapest fame" - for its outstanding
performance in storming the Hungarian capital.
