In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is perfect and shows a beautiful luster. The silver finish is pristine on both sides of the badge and shows a very attractive even patina. The gold plating on the numeral "50" is nicely preserved; the thinner layer of gilt on the hilt of the sword is still completely intact although partly obscured by the silver patina. The screw post is full length, approx. 9.5 mm, and includes the original mint-marked screw plate. In short, this is a truly superb example of the KGB 50 Years badge - virtually impossible to upgrade.

This badge is the official "all-union" KGB award issued in 1967 to active-duty State Security officers who had met qualification requirements.
