Mining Engineering Institute graduate badge, circa 1950s.

Brass gilt, enamels; 40.2 x 29.9 mm. Massive, fine quality badge of two-piece construction. This variation of the badge features riveted construction and a flat reverse with the exception of the star that has a very pronounced counter-relief.

In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is perfect and exhibits a magnificent luster. There is attractive even toning to the brass, while some of the original gilt finish is clearly visible on the reverse. The screw post is full length, over 11.5 mm, and includes an original mint-marked screw plate.
