This is the correct attire for an officer serving in the Navy in a land-based service, such as Engineers.

In excellent condition. Being carried regularly, the gold of the star and the lettering on the cover has somewhat worn off but is still clearly visible. Inside, the photo, seals, and all printed and handwritten verbiage are in excellent condition except for minor soiling of the title page.

The unit which Chumachenko commanded is identified only by its number. We do not know what Unit # 70027 did, we only know that it was located in Severomorsk, the main base of the Soviet Northern Fleet. Major General Chumachenko died in 1992 and was buried at the Volkovskoye Cemetery in St. Petersburg.
