East German Poster with a photo of a metal statue of Stalin, circa mid- to late 1940s.

Measures 11 ¾" x 15 ¾", the image size is 6 ½" x 9", printed on heavy-stock coated paper. The poster was probably part of a folio of prints (see number 8 in the lower right-hand corner).

In excellent condition. Slightly wrinkled at the lower right-hand corner, not reaching the image. No stains of any kind visible.

When Iosif Dzhugashvili took the pseudonym "Stalin", the aspiration clearly was to create the public image of a man of steel ("сталь" - [stal] which means "steel" in Russian). This poster would make a great, if maybe a little too liter
