Dancer with a Tambourine, a figurine in Silumin, circa 1960s-70s.
Stands 7" tall to the highest point, the plinth is approx. 2 ½" x 2". Finely sculpted, dynamic, and very detailed for a silumin statuette. The theme is rather uncommon for the period due to association with a dancing Gypsy, the ethnic group very much frowned upon by the Soviet state.
In excellent condition. A barely noticeable scratch on the left cheek of the dancer is the only wear visible to the naked eye.
Please note that the quarter coin in our photo is for size reference.
