In very good to excellent condition: barely wrinkled, evenly age-toned, with part of the top edge missing, not reaching the header. The horizontal fold line has about ¼" separation at the right edge, hardly noticeable and easily repairable, if desired.

The events detailed in this communique came on the tails of Operation "Uranus" which lasted from 19 to 23 November and led to the encirclement of the German 6th Army, the 3rd and 4th Romanian Armies, and portions of the German 4th Panzer Army. The end spiel of the Battle of Stalingrad was about to commence. It is noteworthy that the Soviet Command had big hopes for the Central Front counteroffensive while not quite yet realizing the magnitude of the consequences of the encirclement at Stalingrad. But the Central Front counteroffensive ended in failure while the Battle of Stalingrad turned out to be one of the greatest victories of the entire war.
