Iskry ("Sparks"), Literary Journal with Caricatures, 29 October 1917 issue, just four days after the October Socialist Revolution.
Measures 13" x 18 ½", 8 pp., published in Moscow by the Imperial Russian newspaper Russkoye Slovo ("The Russian Word").
In fair to good condition. The paper is rather frail and brittle, the outer pages are almost entirely separated, the inner ones have partial separations along the fold line but are still holding together. The printed text is crisp and clear, the caricatures and photo illustrations are of excellent quality.
Russkoye Slovo was a progressive periodical which supported the Russian constitutional Democrat Party and other parties to the left of it.

Russkoye Slovo was a progressive periodical which supported the Russian constitutional Democrat Party and other parties to the left of it. After the February 1917 revolution and Nicholas II abdicating the throne, the newspaper supported the Provisional Government, and was hostile to the October Revolution and the Bolsheviks.
