The edge is stamped, rather indistinctly, with letters "WGA" and the year, 1918. The ribbon has no stripes in the middle, which was meant for invalids, or disabled war veterans, in modern terms.

The old burn hole on the obverse has been repaired from the inside. There is also a small dark stain to the left of the repair, possibly a smaller burn that didn't go through the fabric. The reverse is in very fine condition: clean and damage-free, showing neat manual stitching to the right edge.
