The Grand Cross Star. Silver gilt, enamels, measures 88.7 x 88.5 mm, weighs 78 g. Multi-part construction. The obverse is an eight-pointed hand-detailed silver badge, multi-rayed, with white enameled cross with green enameled border; the center with green laurels around a silver gilt Lorraine Cross on crown in the center medallion. The reverse is silver with a 73.8 mm long pin assembly. Excellent condition, no significant wear visible to the naked eye.

The sash appears to be original, very clean, showing areas of discoloration, mostly around the rosette, most likely due to exposure to light in open storage.

This award was established in 1922 during the last Kingdom of Hungary, aka "the Regency", aka "the Horthy era". The kingdom existed from 1920 under the rule of Miklos Horthy, Regent of Hungary, and was very short-lived, ceasing to exist in 1945 with the Soviet occupation of Hungary.
