Key Fob with Encased Stalin's Photo Portrait, circa late 1940s - 80s.
Measures 40 mm in diameter. Comes with the original steel ring for attaching to a keyring. Double-sided design with Stalin's photo portraits encased under beveled Plexiglas set in bronze rings which are, in turn, inset in the main burgundy-colored resin frame.
In very good to excellent condition. A couple of tiny chinks to the resin frame, an equally small chink to the Plexiglas on one side and a hair-thin scratch to the Plexiglas on the other side is the only wear visible to the naked eye, not very noticeable and not detractive.

Fighting our quite natural inclination to date this item as late 1940s - early 50s, we had to expand the possible time range to the 1980s simply because it was too easy to visualize this fob attached to the car keys of a Georgian driver. Stalin remained very popular among Soviet Georgians who loved to have his image in the windshields of their cars, on their key fobs, or a variety of other keepsake items.
