Pennant of a Warship Underway (Soviet Navy Commissioning Pennant), circa 1970s-80s.
In wool bunting. Large size, measures slightly over 12' in length, 4" in width at the base. In red, with a regular naval ensign at the base.
In excellent condition, completely free of soiling, mothing, or other damage. Standard requisite of every Soviet naval vessel, the pennant was hoisted for the first time when the ship was commissioned. The pennant was then flown both in port and at sea whenever the vessel was "on a campaign" i.e. involved in a training exercise or combat voyage.
