Stalin never wore his Hero of the Soviet Union star, so this photo is probably a cutout from a late 1940s magazine for which he had posed with both. The caption below the photo reads "Generalissimo of the Soviet Union Iosif Vissarionovich STALIN". On the verso, the original hanging loop made of a length of sturdy twisted cord is still firmly attached and in good working order.

In very good condition. The protective plastic cover shows a few scratches and scuffs, but most of them are visible only when you tilt the photo to reflect a bright light. At a normal viewing angle, only the indented line on the left side is visible but is not too intrusive to the eye.
