Salt Cellar, by Ivan Baldin workshop, Kostroma, 1908 - 1917.
In silver, stands approx. 35 mm tall including the ball feet; approx. 49 mm (1.9") diameter in the widest section; weighs 25.6 g. Nicely done piece with attractive beaded edge and hand-engraved florals. The bottom shows a Cyrillic hallmark ИБ ("IB") of the Kostroma silversmith Ivan Baldin. Next to the maker's mark is an "84" Kokoshnik silver hallmark with a Greek character Tau, the designation of the Kostroma assay inspection.

There is tiny fracture at the lip, visible in our greatly enlarged photos but barely noticeable to the unaided eye. There are no noticeable bumps, dents, scratches or other wear. Nice patina to silver throughput. A very attractive piece!
