Silver, enamel; 32.1 mm wide; weighs 19.1 g not including the suspension and connecting link. Late version featuring a rounded eyelet.
In excellent, near mint condition. The enamel in the letters is perfect. There are only a couple microscopic contact marks to silver that are completely unnoticeable to the naked eye and not easy to find even with a 10x loupe. There is a very attractive dark patina to silver on both sides. Comes on an original brass suspension with a faded but otherwise perfect old ribbon which is probably original to the medal. The connecting link appears to be original as well; its ends are still joined with solder. Although perfectly preserved, this Combat Service Medal (aka Military Merit Medal) still shows a lot of character.
