The certificate was issued by the Leningrad Regional Council of Osoaviakhim, the text phrased in overly flowery rhetoric typical of the early Soviet proclamations, bestowing on P. Petrov the title of Honorary Osoaviakhim Activist. Comrade Petrov may or may not have been a member of Osoaviakhim, but he was honored as a Red Army warrior and partisan during the Civil War.

In fair condition. The certificate has several rips to the edges, and missing paper at the bottom, the right side and, less so, at top right. Many edge rips, and the separation at the fold line have been repaired with library tape on the verso.

Despite all the wear, the certificate presents rather well, due to its large format and the vibrant clear graphics and text. The seal is only partially legible but the signatures are clear and not faded.

This item will display nicely despite the losses if properly framed and matted.
