The certificate states that the Central Executive Committee of the SSR of Armenia values highly the indefatigable selfless work of Sarkis Ter-Nakalov during the many years of his service in NKVD, and his conscientious and productive work in building socialism, greatly appreciated by all the working people of Armenia. A rather sinister phrase in the context of NKVD and the 1930s in the Soviet Union, one might think. The document bears serial number 410 and is dated 28 November 1935.

In very good condition. The cover shows minor wear to the cloth wrapping, mostly in the front and the spine. The spine shows 2 small separations, looking as if the cloth was cut with a blade. Small as they are, they do not affect the integrity of the folder. The document is repaired with library tape at the bottom of the fold line, and glued to the cover along it, possibly to prevent further separations. The left page shows minor wrinkling and small tears to the edge, not reaching the text. The right-side page is in much better condition, showing just a tiny crease at the bottom corner. The paper is slightly and evenly age-toned.

Please note that the pen in our photo is for size reference.
