Our search for any information on the artist, V. Kutepov, did not yield any information whatsoever, although, as an artist licensed to paint images of Stalin, he had to be of some renown.

The lithograph is in very good condition, especially when taking into account the frailty of the thin low-quality paper. It shows a few wrinkles and tiny tears, as well as minor paper loss at the edges, but most of the wear either does not reach the image or blends in with it. The paper is evenly age-toned, adding character and a sense of authenticity.

This uncommon portrait of Stalin will make an excellent conversation point, and a fine exhibit in a collection of WW2-era artifacts.
