Two Graduation Diplomas of MGB Border Guard Party School, issued 10 December 1947 and 20 October 1950, respectively, to Pyotr Shevchenko (Петр Данилович Шевченко).
Graduation Diploma issued in 1947 measures 3 ½" x 4 ¾", in brown cloth-bound hard cover. The inscription on the front reads "Regional School of Party Activists, Political Department, Red Banner Border Guards, Khabarovsk Region, 1947." The document certifies that Pyotr Shevcheko finished the one-year program of the school and passed the final exams with the grade "Good" in the following subjects: History of VKP(b), Political Map of the World, and Issues of Party Work in the Soviet Army and MVD Boarder Guard Troops. The certificate bears the seal of the Khabarovsk Regional Director

In excellent condition. Minor wear to the corners of the cover, the internal pages are wear-free, all the printed and handwritten text, the seal and signatures are perfectly legible.
Graduation Diploma issued in 1950 is of the same design, measuring 3" x 4 ¼". The front cover has the same inscription but without the year at the end. The document certifies that Petr Shevchenko completed the two-year program of the party activists school, having attended the full course of lectures and passed exams with good marks, in the following subjects: 1. History of VKP(b), 2. Dialectic and Historic Materialism, 3. History of the USSR, 4. Geography of the USSR and Foreign Countries, 5. Party Work in the Armed Forces and MGB Border Guard Forces, 6. Foreign Policy of the USSR and Current International Relationships.
In excellent condition. With the exception of two tiny stains on the front and back cover, the certificate looks like it led a sheltered life in storage or in Comrade Shevchenko's personnel file.
Khabarovsk Region occupied an area of 304,107 sq. miles in the Soviet Far East, on the shores of the Okhotsk Sea and the Sea of Japan. Plenty of work for border guards, and, evidently, there was a need to refresh, reinforce, and elevate their political and moral standards every now and then.
