The globe in the State Emblem on the reverse is made of separate pieces of fabric stitched onto the blue circle of the globe which, in turn, is stitched onto the banner. The lettering on the obverse designates the banner as the award to the winner of socialist competition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Soviet Power. It is quite uncommon for an award banner of this type to be tied in with one specific date. Usually, such banners are "transferrable", moving from winner to winner, year after year.

In excellent condition. One small and not very obvious stain on the obverse is the only item of detriment. The velvet is strong, the color and the moire sheen are bright and vibrant. The gold thread used in the lettering and graphics is all intact and has retained its full original luster. The fringe is all in place and bright. There are no visible moth bites or any other kind of damage.
