In fine to very fine condition. The red enamel on the star has a small chip near the lower right point which does not penetrate to the metal. There are also a few hairlines in the same area giving the enamel a slightly darker appearance. The green band has a few surface flakes, scratches and a minor amount of rubbing but is otherwise intact. The details of the center medallion are perfect and crisp, and its silver plating is extremely well preserved. The silver finish on the starburst has light wear near the edges but is still nicely preserved overall. The screw post is approx. 7 mm long (measured from the reverse of the decoration), apparently reduced by a couple of mm for convenience as was customary but still long enough for proper functionality. Comes with the original unmarked screw plate in brass.
Generally, an impressive-looking decoration despite some minor imperfections. Its early type is quite scarce compared with the later versions
on suspension.
