In bronze, 64.7 mm wide. The obverse shows bas-relief portraits of cosmonauts V. Lyakhov, L. Popov, and V. Ryumin. The artwork on the reverse depicts a launch of a Soyuz rocket and, on the other side, Soyuz / Progress spacecraft docked to Salyut space station in orbit. The inscription on the reverse is "Long Duration Spaceflights of Cosmonauts V. Lyakhov and L. Popov of 6 Months Each, and V. Ryumin of One Year on the Orbital Complex Salyut - Soyuz - Progress with International Crews, 1979-1980". There is a logo of the Leningrad Mint near the edge on the obverse at approximately

In excellent, near mint condition, completely free of visible dings, pitting or edge knocks. The toning to the brass is beautifully even, without blemishes. The medal was struck in 1981 at the Leningrad Mint. A total of 1500 was produced, a small number by the Soviet standards.
