In brass; pendant measures 41.5 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 37.5 mm in width; weighs 15.9 g without the suspension and connecting link; overall weight with suspension is 24.4 g. The design is very similar to the Soviet Distinguished Military Service Medals. This medal was awarded to both Afghan and Soviet servicemen.
