Soviet Navy Gyrocompass, as used in landing boats and other small craft.

Interesting design with small viewing window and two attachment points at the sides for a gimbal mounting. Approximately 7" tall, 4" diameter. Undated, unmarked, probably 1960s issue. Futuristic metal housing is painted metallic grey; there is a provision for illumination on the reverse. Attached to a gyroscope, the dial swivels freely although it is not clear how accurate it is.

Good overall condition. There is some staining to the inside of the window glass, but the view of the dial is generally unobstructed. One of the plastic knobs is partly missing, but it does not a
