Being an organ of the executive branch of the Soviet government, the magazine's main focus is on the day-to-day achievements of Soviet industry and agriculture, and propaganda of the heroic efforts of workers and peasants to increase their output. There is a high number of advertisements on the inside and back of the cover, underscoring normality of the day-to-day life of the Soviet people.
