Sheet music and lyrics of Trans-Baikal song, 1934 edition.

Measures approx. 8 ¼" x 6" in its folded form. Printed on both sides of a single sheet of low-quality paper. Published by "МУЗГИЗ", Russian abbreviation for "State Music Publishers". Circulation 25,000.

In very good to excellent condition. The paper is still quite supple and mildly and evenly age-toned. A tiny separation of the fold at the bottom does not reach the lettering and is not detractive. The artwork is wonderfully preserved both in color and clarity of print, and so is the music and lyrics inside.

The song did not gain any popularity although it was designated as "a mass song" for a choir and piano and this cheap "paper single" format allowed for its mass distribution. However, the name of the composer deserves a special note. This is the Aleksandr Aleksandrov, the author of the music of the USSR Anthem which raised him to the very top of the official ladder of recognition and privilege.
