Brass, enamels; measures 47.4 x 26.0 mm. Features riveted three-piece construction with superimposed Soviet state emblem and open book. Reverse shows early mint mark ЛМД ("LMD") of the Leningrad Mint. This graduation badge is very similar in design to that of pedagogical institutes (high level colleges), but unlike the latter has enamel of much darker, royal blue shade.

The screw post is full length, approx. 9 mm measured from its hexagon nut base, and includes original Leningrad Mint-marked screw plate.

Law Schools. Graduating from the latter was often a requirement for higher-ranking police officers who wanted to advance their career in law
enforcement.
