Gagarin's Childhood Poster, Soviet Space Program, "Yuri Gagarin, the Flight Continues" Series, printed in the USSR in 1990.

Big size, measures 70 x 44 cm (27 ½" x 17 ¼"). Printed on high-gloss heavy stock paper, fine quality piece.

This particular poster of the series features rare photos of Yuri Gagarin as a child. The centerpiece is his close-up portrait during his school years, followed by a photo of all the 4 Gagarin siblings (Yuri, Boris, Valentin and sister Zoya), a snapshot of Yuri with his school buddies and a very small and (bottom right) quite rare snapshot of Gagarin's "Little Motherland" - a photo of the dugout the Gagarins used to live in as a family at some early point in time. It had earthen walls, bunk beds nailed together from assorted boards and a stove made of discarded broken bricks.
The bottom margin shows information about the publisher including the number of prints in circulation (just 3000 copies, a tiny number by Soviet standards) and the retail price of 1 Ruble (a typical cheap price from the Soviet era, before the runaway inflation that hit the Soviet, and later Russian economy starting from the early 90s). This series of posters was published in 1990 ahead of the following year's upcoming 30th anniversary of Gagarin's space flight. The posters were apparently created as educational tools, to be displayed in schools, libraries, museums etc.

The poster is in excellent condition. It shows only barely noticeable wear to the edges, but no tears, scuffs, folds or any other significant damage. The colors are strong, not faded.
Please note that it will be shipped rolled in a sturdy cardboard box.
