Table Medal in Commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the City of Sverdlovsk (formerly Yekaterinburg), 1973.

In bronze; massive piece measuring 77.3 mm in width, approx. 7 mm thick at the edge. The obverse shows a monument to Yakov Sverdlov, a famous Bolshevik leader (the city, originally Yekaterinburg, was renamed in his honor in 1924 only to receive its original name back in 1991 during the disintegration of the Soviet Union.) The obverse also shows a motif of steel foundry ladle, cogwheel and model of atom signifying the industrial importance of this manufacturing center in the Ural area. The reverse shows dates "1723-1973".

In excellent condition. The medal is free of significant wear of any kind; its raised artwork is perfect and crisp. There is minor amount of verdigris to the rim, not detractive, and some minor dings to the raised edge that are barely noticeable. is a moderate amount of oxidation throughout which is not too detractive. Two raised thin lines on the rim are manufacturing flaws.
