Order of Maternal Glory 1st class, Variation 2, #99196, circa late 1950s - early 1960s.

Medallion is in silver gilt and enamels; suspension device is in gilded brass and enamels. The medallion is of riveted two-piece construction (the red star is a separate, superimposed part), measures 40.8 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 29.6 mm in width; weighs 22.2 g not including the suspension and connecting link. Features hand-engraved serial number(as opposed to rotating tool-engraved number on the later issues). This is a particularly interesting example: its serial number is among the lowest for the Variation 2 with flat back construction of the suspension device.

In excellent condition. The enamel on the suspension is practically perfect having only some miniscule contact marks and a single tiny surface flake at the bottom edge on the right which is practically unnoticeable without magnification. The enamel on the pendant has only microscopic contact marks, no wear visible to the naked eye. There is very attractive luster to the enamel throughout. The raised details and gilt finish are nearly pristine.
