Badge of a Veteran Air Force Navigator, #0545, with award document, issued on 30 May 1985.

Th badge is in brass with gilt and silver finish and "cold" enamel; measures 44.8 mm in height, 41.8 mm in width. Riveted two-piece construction; the silver plaque with inscription "Veteran" is a separate superimposed part. There is a raised logo of the Moscow Mint on the reverse near the bottom. Note the extremely low serial number (from our experience, the total number of these badges in circulation is probably in a few thousand range).

The document is a paper booklet similar in format to jubilee medal certificates of the post-war period. The cover has inscription "Council of Veterans of the Navigation Service of the Air Forces", and "Certificate for a Badge 'Veteran-Navigator'". The first inside page has an image of the badge in color and hand-written serial number. The right page is hand signed by the chairman of the Veterans Committee Maj. General Kovtun and by its secretary, and shows the award date.

The badge is in excellent condition, free of noticeable wear to the finish or enamel. The screw post is full length, approx. 12.5 mm, and comes with original unmarked screw plate. The document shows a few very minor stains and wrinkles, very good to excellent overall.

A very scarce official award, especially with its original matching document included.
