Hungary, Army Qualification Badge of Military Vehicle Driver or Maintenance Mechanic, 1st class, circa late 1950s - early 1960s.
Brass gilt, "cold" enamels; measures 64.5 mm wide x 26.5 mm tall. The badge is very similar in its design to the contemporary Soviet badge of a Tank Driver. The numeral in the center shield designates proficiency level (3 being the lowest and 1 the highest).
Excellent condition. The enamel retains beautiful luster, shows no rubbing or other significant wear. The gilt finish is bright with just minimal tarnish that is not detractive. Includes fully functional original pin attachment.
