In very fine to excellent condition, well above the average for this badge. The red star has a minor amount of rubbing and surface wear to its apex but is otherwise completely intact, free of the usual repairs or chips. The blue enamel is perfect: it retains beautiful luster and shows only a couple of microscopic contact marks invisible without magnification. The details of the airplane and the stylized hammer and sickle emblem are beautifully crisp; there are only a couple of minuscule dings to the silver that are not detractive. The wire connections are in perfect order, and the parts of the badge are attached very firmly. There is attractive even patina to silver throughout. The screw post is full length, over 11 mm, and comes with hallmarked silver screw plate which is original to the badge.

The badge was awarded for donations or active participation in the Northwestern Chapter of the society which included Petrograd (later Leningrad) region.
