Badge of Coal Miner's Glory, 2nd class, Leningrad Mint version, circa late 1970s - early 1980s.
Brass, enamels, lacquer. The massive medallion measures 54.6 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 43.2 mm in width. Two-piece construction: the star is a separate, superimposed part attached by rivets. Shows Leningrad mint logo "LMD" on the reverse near the eyelet. This very large and imposing award is often incorrectly referred to as Order of Coal Miner's Glory.
In excellent condition. The enamel, finishes and lacquer are perfect.
