Brass, enamels, lacquer. The massive medallion measures 54.4 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 43.1 mm in width. Two-piece construction: the star is a separate, superimposed part attached by rivets. Shows Leningrad mint logo "LMD" on the reverse, near the eyelet. This very large and imposing award is often incorrectly referred to as Order of Coal Miner's Glory.

In excellent condition. The enamel and lacquer are perfect; the fragile silver finish on the star is pristine and bright. There is mild tarnish on the reverse near the bottom, not visually detractive.
