Veteran's Badge in Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Air Force Engineering Service, 1966 issue.

In aluminum, "cold" enamels and lacquer, far larger and better quality than a typical veteran's badge. Measures 52.3 mm in height (over 2"), 50.0 mm in width, almost 3 mm thick and the bottom. No maker marks, but the badge is similar in construction to some of the contemporary, late 1960's badges of the Pobeda Factory in Moscow. Overall, a very impressive and unusual piece!

The badge is in excellent condition. The enamels and finish are practically pristine. There is a scribbled numeral "1992" on the reverse, possibly a memorable date put there by the orig

The badge is in excellent condition. The enamels and finish are practically pristine. There is a scribbled numeral "1992" on the reverse, possibly a memorable date put there by the original owner. The screw post is of full length, approx. 9.5 mm, and includes original unmarked screw plate of characteristically crude construction.
