Aluminum, paint; very large medallion measuring 48.7 mm tall (incl. eyelet), 43.3 mm wide. This attractive badge shows a Tupolev strategic bomber with blue globe on the background, and an Order of the Red Star bestowed upon the regiment for its performance during WW2. Note the combined Air Force and Signals emblem in the center of the suspension. Maker marked "SAZ" (souvenir production line of the Smolensk Aviation Factory) on the reverse of the suspension device. The badge was awarded in 1982 to active duty officers as well as veterans who served in the unit during the war. After the war, the regiment changed its name several times until it became known as 92nd Mitava Combat Command and Control Center.
