Octoberist Membership Badge, 1970s.
Aluminum, paint; measures 31 mm in width. Shows gold portrait of Lenin as a little boy in the center. The reverse shows raised maker mark and Soviet price of 10 Kopeks (the makers of this badge varied but the state-dictated retail price remained the same over the years). Excellent condition.
Oktyabryata or "Octoberists" (aka "Grandchildren of Lenin") was organization for communist indoctrination of children 7 to 9 years of age. Being a member was a prerequisite for becoming a Young Pioneer.
