Decorative Porcelain Plate with Portrait of Lenin, made in Czechoslovakia, circa 1970s.
Over the glaze painting, gold leaf border and ornament; measures 9.5" (24 cm) wide. Maker's mark on the back is combined with the English text "Made in Czechoslovakia" which indicates that the plate was intended for export, apparently to one of the other Soviet bloc countries.
In excellent condition. Not only the portrait is perfectly preserved, but also there is practically no wear to the gild border. This high quality propaganda piece was most likely produced to celebrate the centenary of Lenin's birth in 1970s.
