Sergei Yesenin (1895 - 1925), large 8" tall bust in Silumin alloy, dated 1980.
Good quality, artistic and tasteful rendition, excellent likeness of one of the most famous Russian lyrical poets of the first quarter of the Twentieth Century. If you are not familiar with him (besides being a highly regarded poet, he was married five times - once to the eccentric dancer Isadora Duncan; before he committed suicide in the Angleterre Hotel in St. Petersburg in 1925, he wrote his final poem with his own blood), you probably should be.
The artist has captured an excellent likeness of him as he would have looked before alcohol and general dissipation took its toll
