Red Army Drummer porcelain figurine, Kiev Experimental Ceramic and Arts Factory with added dedication on drumhead, dated 1969.
7" x 4 1/4" x 3" (178 x 108 x 77 mm). Professionally rendered dedication "To Anastasiya Vasil'evna from the graduates of the class 10-A, 1969" (clearly a farewell gift to a favorite school teacher). Trademark introduced in 1962.
Very good condition. One drumstick has broken off and the remaining stick has lost most of its original gold finish. There are two or three ways that a good restorer could readily replace the missing stick.
A dramatic and highly uncommon statuette.
