Fighter ace Pyotr Pokryshev, twice Hero of the Soviet Union.

Size 17 1/8" x 21 1/8". Nice rendition in charcoal or conte crayon. Portrait by V.Sokolov.

Excellent condition.

This lithograph was published by the Political Department of the Leningrad Front, circa 1944. The headline reads, "Heroes of Leningrad Front".

According to Stalin's Eagles by Hans Seidl, Pokryshev definitely shot down 23 enemy airplanes - with the possibility that he may have shot down as many as 38.
