Naval Flag of the Chairman of the KGB State Security, early 1980s - 1991.

In wool bunting. Medium size, 56" long x 35" wide (approx. 4.5' x 3'). Features a green field, the color of KGB Naval Border Guards. Excellent, near mint condition. The flag is completely free of any moth damage typical of Soviet-era flags made of wool. There are no tears, snags or soiling. The colors are strong, not faded. Overall, a perfect example, literally impossible to upgrade.

Unlike the more common - albeit also quite scarce - flags used by warships of the KGB Naval Border Guards, this flag could be flown only when the Chairman of KGB was on board. Considering its size, this particular piece was probably intended for a fairly large-size patrol boat, corvette or destroyer. An exceptionally rare and interesting piece!
