Presentation folder measuring 6" x 8 ½" when closed, in leatherette-bound hard cover with the DDR state emblem embossed on the front cover in gold. The document is dated 1 July 1973 and bears a facsimile signature of the Minister of the Interior and Chief of German Volkspolizei (People's Police).
In very good to excellent condition, showing two small bumps to the front cover, and minimal foxing and storage wear to the paper of the document inside.
The medal (original name "Medaille für ausgezeichnete Leistungen in den bewaffneten Organen des Ministeriums des Innern") was instituted on 4 June 1959, in single class. Awarded for excellent performance of tasks directed at strengthening and consolidation of the DDR.
